Assassins and Racing, just your average weekend

Not much gaming done this weekend but I did get back around to finishing Assassins Creed 4 in preparation for Unity, still have the Aveline and Adawale DLC missions to do and since I haven’t ever played them it will be something new and some of the trophies to finish off. The one problem I have with the AC games in relation to trophies and achievements is the multiplayer component, it just does nothing for me and means that getting 100% is essentially impossible which is annoying but I’m not going to do things I don’t enjoy just for some symbol….that said, someone has mentioned that the getting to level 55 one can be done playing lone wolf solo so it might just be something I do randomly if I get the urge.

The other gaming I did was just some oval racing on iRacing to try and get my safety rating up; at first I was just going to take a weekend to game the system and get out of rookies through time trialing oval and road-race but I’ve decided I want to run both classes for a full season to get some experience and see how high my safety rating can go naturally first as that will be an indicator of if I actually deserve to be out of rookies or not. I’m certainly finding that I like oval more than road racing at this stage but I think that might just be due to the shifting in road-racing still feeling different to real life, even with an H-shifter, since there is no real force-feedback on the shifter or clutch as there is in a real car.

Some changes happening

Looking back over how neglected this site has been I’ve decided to make some changes to it, in terms of direction and content, though that’s also being driven by changes happening in my life as well. The first change has been to take the site from a World of Warcraft and multiboxing direction to general gaming and the main impetus for this has come from the fact I pretty much have stopped playing WoW in any fashion and started to get back to some of the hundreds of games I’ve had sitting on my shelves and in my Steam library for the past few years, as well as getting the urge for some competitive gaming.

I have decided that I need to take getting fit and healthy more seriously in my life so getting rid of the thought I have to rush home and put in a few hours of level grinding on characters or teams was the first thing to go, it allows me to know I am heading from work to the gym, then I can get home and eat before settling in for a bit of gaming IF I feel like it; so now I can get home and do no gaming, or I might want to play a console game, or I might want to multibox some Diablo 3 or I could work on my ELO in a competitive game or I could get ready to go back out and hang with friends….who’d have thought that was an option a little while ago.

When I’ve mentioned competitive gaming a few times now it’s essentially going to be iRacing or League of Legends mostly as I find that iRacing is fun and allows me to use triple monitors, TrackIR and a steering setup for more than just Euro Truck Simulator 2 while slowly improving my skill in a genre I’ve enjoyed all my life. Outside of those I will also be getting back in to some flight simulators and both Elite: Dangerous and Star Citizen Online to get back to other things I used to enjoy and also get further benefit out of the hardware I have invested in, then there will be a lot of console gaming to try and cut back my last gen catalog before the PS4 and XBone avalanche really begins.

Where that leaves this site is that I will posting a lot more with content from iRacing and LoL ELO climbs, possibly reviews and videos of games and hardware, and occasional posts about things as I play them with large content dumps focusing on one game at times when new content patches are released (such as Diablo 3 patch 2.1 or Warlords of Draenor) and hopefully just a lot more content and reasons for people to come visit more often so it’s time to sit back and enjoy the ride while I get the load started.
